During the time we’ve had the doors open at Caffeine&Machine, there have been endless conversations with incredible human beings, who’ve described to us the feeling that C&M gives them; that feeling of belonging and that feeling of home.

What linked every single conversation was the level of support that C&M and subsequently our wonderful customers provide each other. We’ve seen relationships blossom and friendships made along the way, which to us is magic. It’s everything we wanted from C&M and we’d very much like to continue doing everything we can to support our vibrant and diverse community.

So that leads us to ‘I Love You, Man’, our night of conversation.

March’s guest on the I Love You, Man wingback is a legend of automotive journalism: Steve Cropley. He’s edited some of the biggest magazines out there, gone on some incredible adventures, and has interviewed just about every important person the automotive industry has ever seen.

Cropley’s story is, as you’d expect, incredible. He’ll be talking to us about growing up in a tiny mining town in Australia, how his love of writing lead to some… interesting shenanigans on the finance markets, and how a chance meeting, combined with a nasty truck crash, lead him to take a 2000 mile road trip in a wonky Merc to get the job on Wheels magazine that would shape his life. As well as nattering about that trip, we’ll look at some of his eye opening experiences (flying a DC3, anyone? Or perhaps driving a Model T from London to Geneva?), and how he’s stayed at the top of his game for so long. During the evening we’ll also discuss where his happiest memories lie – not behind the wheel of a supercar, that’s for sure.
